MEET SUMMER Hammond
Summer Hammond grew up in Iowa, land of tender sunsets and riverboats. When she wasn’t reading and writing in trees, Summer liked collecting bugs in bug barns she and her Dad made in his workshop. Katydids are still her favorite bug. Her family moved to the Ozarks of southwest Missouri, where Summer began home-schooling. Rather than homework, Summer wrote stories at her desk. It took a bit longer to graduate. Summer went on to have many adventures including, eloping with her kindred spirit, traveling cross-country in an 18-wheeler, teaching 9th grade Reading, and moving 1400 miles to pursue an MFA.
